LATEST COURT DATES:
Bresha Meadows was offered a plea deal at the May 8th pretrial hearing. Bresha’s attorney hopes Bresha will be transferred from juvenile detention to the treatment center by May 22nd at the latest. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 22nd, at which time either a plea deal will be finalized or her case will go onto trial. Read the #FreeBresha statement for more details.
EVENTS:
Love Poems for Bresha is a national action coordinated with local activists in partnership with FORCE: Upsetting Rape Culture, an artist collective dedicated to building public healing spaces for survivors. Help us build a powerful space of love for all Black girls fighting to live in a world that doesn’t see us, and send love to Bresha. Bring your favorite poems and songs of love, joy and survival by Black women, non-binary and femme identified writers to share.
There will also be a letter writing station for those who want to send messages to the Ohio Prosecutor demanding that charges against Bresha be dropped, and also write messages of support to Bresha. Come and help us send love to Bresha.
